I captured this portrait of a Wood Duck in eclipse at Lake Mirror in Lakeland, Florida this morning. Comments and critique welcomed and appreciated. Thank you for viewing.

Nikon 80-400mm F/4.5-5.6 VRII AF-S ED shot at 400mm (600mm FFE)
1/2500 F/8 Matrix Metering -1/3 EV ISO 2200
Post processed in Lightroom CC and Photoshop CC, Iris Enhance in Lightroom and cleaned up a second catch light in Photoshop
Cropped for composition and presentation

Nice looking portrait Joe. I like the details and colors in this hen along with the BG color. The eye is mesmerizing and captivating. Well done

Excellent preening pose, eye.
Some color noise in the background on my monitor.
I might be tempted to try a version with the luminosity of the head toned down just a bit, perhaps 5% or so, seems a bit too bright to me.

Yes good preening pose, although I must admit that photographing preening birds from directly behind is not my favorite perspective. Nice details on the upturned feathers. The eye looks great.

I like this.
Great details on the head and eye. Good DOF.
I can't decide if the head is a bit too bright or if the dark feathers at the bottom of the frame trick the eye into believing the head is too bright.
Nice image and neat perspective,
