Hi Rachel, personally I would have liked a tighter capture, for me it's a little lost within the frame. Perhaps you wanted more 'environment', I don't know, but a longer lens may have been better, but lets see what others say.

Hi Rachel cute looking little Bisons and i like the pose of both .
I agree with Steve that they are looking a bit " lost" in the frame .As i think the environment is not that interesting from the shooting angle a longer lens might have been a better choice , would be different if you had a lower POV with mush in FG and BG .
I might also think about giving the fur a bit more tonal depth without boosting the colors as they do look very good to me .

Thanks guys. Interesting about your thoughts. As you know I tend to like negative space so I wanted a wider shot but I hear what you are saying. Remember that Yellowstone has rules about distance to the animals too. Perhaps an 800 mm lens might have given the tighter comp you suggest but I don't have one. :eek3:

B&H doesn't hire glass as far as I know though Adorama does. I'm just not interested in schlepping around that much weight though.

HI Rachel -- I liked the image as presented by you . Its simple with nice details, though I would have cropped from the top to get a pano kind of look to it . A tighter frame would also been another option but there were certain limitations as suggested by you .

A very cute image. I bounce back and forth between environmental and tight shots. I do like the pano suggestion from haseeb.

A 1.4TC might help a bit with the distance issue. It definitely appears as though you had enough light to get the shot. I do know that adding a TC to your rig works rather well from experience. ISO 1600 is quite workable with the 7D2.
