I don't have a noise reduction program. Can someone explain there use and benefits and could you recommend a good program? Thanks Jim:)

Hi Jim. I use Noise Ninja and like it! google Noise Ninja and you will be able to download a free trial. There was a sort of recent thread covering the whole gamut of noise reduction options. Maybe you can search the site (or maybe someone can post a link to the thread)

I use Noise Ware and am very happy with it. NR software will help to eliminate noise in images. Though PS does support methods of noise reduction, the dedicated programs can target luminance or color noise, have sliders for detection and reduction intensities and basically, make it easier to do. As with most plug-ins to PS, there is a way to do the same thing in PS, the commercial programs just make it easier and more straight forward.

I like to use either Noise Ninja or the free Noiseware.
The "Landscape" setting on Noiseware is particular favourite for subtle changes but the regular Noise Ninja often makes images pop but can smudge grasses. Often try both on an image and use the one I prefer.
