Warbler #6 from Magee Marsh. Because of the dim light much of the time, I shot many of my warbler images at f6.3, even though I usually default at 7.1. On reviewing my images later, I found myself wishing I had stopped down to my normal setting. But here I was pleased that the bird and branch were nicely parallel to the sensor plane. Cloned out some branches above.

D7200, 500f4 + 1.4 TC, ISO 2000, 1/800s @ f/6.3 manual; fill @ -2.0.

With the bird relatively small in the frame, this did not suffer at all from f/6.3. Had it been large in the frame you might have had some d-o-f problems. I find it quite lovely with the leaves and the soft light. Love the BKGR too. a

Great bird, neat perch. I'm thinking the very brightest yellows above the eye could be toned down, but overall a very satisfying warbler image.

I think the head could go just a tad sharper...
Nice Warbler image with about perfect DOF.

Love the combiantion between bird and BG colors and the bright green leaves. Very nice image. TFS.

Another streamlined beauty displaying his unique feather design, Bill. Like his perch and super BG.

Lovely Warbler, I like the natural light and composition, nice detail and color! The warbler migration was kind of lame in Minnesota this year, so I will just have to enjoy others images.

Thanks Michael. I was lucky, for once, to have scheduled my trip to Magee to coincide with an amazing fallout. And there's always next year.
