I got this one in Early April, when it opened its eyes for a few minutes, before drifting off into another nap! Canon &d, 100-400ll at 400mm 320 iso, f6.3,1/250ss

Love this, Michael! Despite the low vantage point, the eye contact really makes the picture for me. I remember seeing something similar from you before with much less desirable composition compared to this one. Was it the same owl?

Great peeping out pose, nice work. Maybe try and up the ISO and shutter speed in the future, it's ok this time but a bit on the borderline.

Think it's great the way you have caught the pose on this one, agree with Mike re the shutter speed but still a very nice image that I would be very pleased to have.

Love the brown tones on this one Micheal. I think its broiught out the naturally occuring soft feathers of an owl too.

Sweet image of this Screech owl a bit on the warm side, but nice details and environment.

Look pretty sharp to me. I assume &D means 7D. Your ISo-400 is a good choice to get the eye noise free I think, which makes the image for me. Loi

Hi Loi, Yes, 7D, I took it early this spring before I upgraded to the 7Dll

Hi Mike, Yes, now that I upgraded my camera, I am much more comfortable with much higher iso! This was taken earlier this spring

Hi Adhika, no that was a more red colored owl, this one had better light and was more cooperative! :bg3:
