Laughing Gull screaming above head of adult Brown Pelican

This image was created on the last afternoon of the Fort DeSoto IPT with the Induro (https://www.outdoorphotogear.com/search.php?search_query=indurogrand&rfsn=132487.5cf37.9906) GIT 304L/Mongoose M3.6 (https://store.birdsasart.com/shop/item.aspx?itemid=274)-mounted Canon EF 600mm f/4L IS II USM lens (http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/754508-REG/Canon_5125B002_EF_600mm_f_4L_IS.html/BI/6633/KBID/7226/kw/CA6004LIFEF2/DFF/d10-v2-t1-xCA6004LIFEF2), the Canon Extender EF 2X III (http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/732111-USA/Canon_4410B002_Extender_EF_2X_III.html/BI/6633/KBID/7226/kw/CA2XEF3/DFF/d10-v2-t1-xCA2XEF3), and the Canon EOS-1D X Mark II and Premium Kit with 64GB Card and Reader. Evaluative metering at zero: 1/1600 sec. at f/9 in Manual mode. Daylight WB.

Two AF points below the Center AF point/AI Servo Expand/shutter Button AF as originally framed was active at the moment of exposure. Click on the image to see a larger version.

AF Micro-adjustment via LensAlign/Focus Tune (https://store.birdsasart.com/shop/item.aspx?itemid=304): +4. Tutorial coming soon.

After I micro-adjusted my 600II/2X III TC with my new 1DX Mark II and gave it a trial run I was pretty much astounded by the results. Never before had I been able to follow flight and action at 1200mm... See two more images and learn a ton as usual in the Astounded By 1200mm Flight and Action Images...blog post here (http://www.birdsasart-blog.com/2016/05/15/astounded-by-1200mm-flight-and-action-images/).

As for the image, don't be shy: all honest comments are welcome. a

Excellent Artie, sharp and clean at 1200mm. I also love the frame with the gull standing on Pelican's head!

Looks prey sharp on both birds Artie. I also like the one with gull on his head. Hope you are enjoying the new camera.

Looks great Artie, especially for 1200mm. The ahead angle on the screaming gull looks perfect and the Pelican doesn't look to amused. Well done and I really like the one with the gull on his head!! Se ya soon

Lovely shot well focused and sharp - whites well tamed:w3.
I can't help but wonder if there is a slight blue cast/perhaps a tad cold??

Well, the water is blue, but the brightest WHITEs on the gull's neck and the top of the pelican's head all show the R and G values 10-15 points higher than the B values. So I would have to say emphatically, no blue cast :) a
