I second the Pelican guess, nice subtle tones and fine detail almost looks like a form of jewelry

Pink-backed Pelican beak. Top side. And I love the photo. Such a unique bird photo with the crazy details of the bill (hope I'm right) and the soft feathers as the background. A real winner to me.

I just had to open this thumbnail, very interesting and I was very puzzled until I read the replies above:) Indeed very much like a macro shot, Arash is right!

Enjoyed viewing and wondering, very well seen and captured Sir, lovely colours, details and textures - thank you so much for sharing, appreciated:5

Certainly a pelican bill, but I'm lost as to the species of Pelican. Great detail.

Great looking frame Artie. Love the details and the textures. I agree that it's a Pelican bill and I thought American white, but with all the traveling you do I don't think it is one.

Thanks all. It is the dorsal surface of the bill of a Great White Pelican from my recent Namibia trip. a
