Will be going on a 10 day trip starting mid-May to North Carolina (Durham, NC) http://forum.luminous-landscape.com/Smileys/default/cool.gif and will probably have time for two 2/3 day photo trips. I am mostly interested in birds including BIF, and wildlife, but may also want to take a few landscape and historical buildings pics.
I am considering one trip to the coast and a trip to the mountains.
I'm looking for any interesting suggestions (especially from locals http://forum.luminous-landscape.com/Smileys/default/smiley.gif ) on trips and places where you think I could/should go?

Stan

I am not familiar with Durham area but Florida is shining with a lot of birds during that period of time. Have you considered flying down to the Florida for a short trip?

Thanks Adhika, I did a longer Florida trip (two weeks) in 2011, but unfortunately won't be able to manage it this time.

First time Poster here Stan. I live in NC and just got back from the beach from shooting the annual migration of swans and snow geese. There will be some stuff around still great for shooting in May. I have GPS coordinates to all the places I shot while there at the bottom of the pages. It's a great place to shoot at the beach while your there and probably the closest for you. Here are the 4 articles

As for the mountains. A great place to shoot is at Grandfather Mountain at their Diner out back they set up humming bird feeders and there are tons of them, plus you get great scenery the bridge and some animals. Hope that helps
