How, and how often do most calibrate their monitors? I have an older "spyder", but it's been dropped and I feel it's not working properly. Can anyone recommend an easy option for a computer challenged, older person? Simple to use but, effective is what I'm after. I have a PC.

Thank you for any suggestions!

what is the model number ? you need to figure what kind of panel it is, i.e. TN, IPS, PVA etc. and also if it is LED, CCFL....
different screens require different calibration hardware. some can't be calibrated at all....

Nvidia is the graphic card, not the monitor.

Use a spyder 4, it's pretty easy, jut hook it up and run the software.

Hi Glennie - yes to a Spyder. I think the most recent version is Spyder 5. To answer your other question, calibrate at least every 30 days.

Rachel is right I meant Spyder 5.

Thank you Arash and Rachel! Every 30 days...no wonder my images look a bit weird. I'll order one today.

Ditto on the Spyder recommendation -- get the basic model and use the default settings.

Pro version is good, you don't need the Elite version but don't get the lowest end one, it doesn't have ambient light sensor so it cannot adjust the brightness level accurately....

Arash, I use the one that came with my NEC monitor (Xrite) is the brand, it has the ambient light sensor but honestly I never have it plugged in, is this a mistake?
