Hi Jonathan! I am loving the head turn on this one. I feel like the lark is sneering at me. In the ideal world, the bird's wing would be all upwards but in that world, Murphy's law is not part of Physics.

I was told by a moderator once that I should never shoot BIF with longer shutter speed than 1/2500 s.
I thought I would pass the advice.

Jon looks like you caught one of my favorite birds very well,slight blur on the wing gives it a nice feel of movement,that's an excellent BG you got,good showing of the Lark spur.

Hi Jon, super execution, cracking BKG, natural, soft, muted backdrop which provides a nice 'pop' to the subject.

Love the 'spurs' I just wonder if they need a bit more select USM, as they do appear to be on the same/within the same plane of focus? Any more room below, or is this FF?

Super flight shot. I, too, love the spurs, the head turn and the background. No problem with the motion blur on the wings, IMO.

A pretty fine capture. I take wing positions for what they are. A bit more light and less shadow on the head would have been nice. A big ask I know.

Thanks for the feedback everyone, glad you liked it. I got about 10 images in a row and most are sharp, my dilemma was finding one where the light was even and the spurs were visible, unfortunately wasn't perfect but hope springs eternal, this is work in progress.
