That's preening alright Norm!! Like the two heads curled in opposite symetry if that makes sense. Takes a while to work out whats happening on this one ! I reckon it might take a slightly smaller crop- just my own thoughts.

Certainly fits the theme! Two pretty good head angles, fun twists and curves.

A bit snug in the frame for me as well.

Nicely seen and timed.

I can tell by this image that you had some difficult shooting conditions here. Love the preening behavior but wish for a looser frame, although I understand the crop.

Thanks everyone. I too would prefer that the image not be cropped so tightly. But the birds were in a crowded colony, and any looser crop would have introduced other, distracting elements.

Thanks exactly what I figured, Norm. I could see what looked like feet in the upper right hand corner. It makes it pretty difficult for shooting angles.
