Odontogossum. Not sure of variety.
The first of my orchid collection to flower this year.
Its always hard to get acceptable comp when the plant has large leaves. There is no way to get a big flower size without chopping the leaves. I decided to leave them in the stack sequence out of focus, Not sure about the dark one top centre.(sorry-top right)
Saturation reduced a little but it is a very brighly coloured flower

Looks very pleasing to the eye my only reservation is that the flower seems to be suspended in mid air. The background leaves look fine to me.

I can see what you mean. I might try and re do it with the flower stalk in focus. Its hard to see things like this when checking before the stacking sequence. The flower stalk leans over at an angle so it was an absolute pig to get into position. I,m sure as you realise, setups can sometimes be harder that a casual shot !! Must keep trying !

Wonderful orchid, wonderfully captured. The seeming absence of a stem doesn't bother me, orchid scapes are like that. Love the soft colors.

Lovely! I long for just a bit more contrast on the top flower and some green in the OOF leaf. The larger leaves provide a pleasing support for the flower. I don't mind their being cut off.

Hi John, The out of focus leaves look fine to me especially in repost. Nice DOF.

This is nice John and the RP is definitely better re the back leaf. The colours have been handled well. Good DOF on the flower head and I like the fact that the leaves are OOF and don't compete with the flower for attention.

Hi John. I thought the OP looked great, but the repost really pops - and I especially like what you did with the back leaf in the repost.
