I took another drive through the nature reserve close to my house, and soon found the Egrets using the Zebra's as Taxi's. This fellow had just finished preening and I managed to capture one of the feathers that had come loose. Taken early morning.

Magic! The egret is perfectly exposed, its perch is instantly recognisable and the gaze appears to be towards the feather, all this coupled with a lovely soft background. Not bad Stu - not bad!

Amazing catch of the loose feather Stu. As for the rest of it, lovely bird, bkg and perch, all beautifully exposed and composed. A very special image!

Very nice details in a very interesting shot. Pity the feather wasn't a bit closer to the Egret, but that's a bit nit-picky

Stu - love the way the egret seems to be looking at the feather. Gorgeous light as usual. Great perch, any images of just the perch to share?:w3

Very nice Stu. The morning light looks great on the bird, but even better on the perch :). The background is nice and smooth and looks great with the floating feather in it. Well done

Stu:

All the elements came together on this one, tech, timing, and a bit of luck too! Well composed, exposed and processed.

Really fun.

Cheers
