This is one from yesterday afternoon, when we had some decent light. I liked the way the late afternoon sun, caused reflections on the sea, as the Long Tailed Duck was swimming towards the harbour area.

Or perhaps out of the blue! Here is one instance where a lower angle was not needed as the warping textured colours, which would not have been so evident with a lower angle, are a big part of the image. Good exposure and details. If anything you could trim a sliver off the bottom. Nicely done!

Lovely image design and bird and good comments by Dan. The face looks as if it would benefit from some Contrast Mask sharpening of the TIFF file... a

Hi Will, wat a beautyful bird. never seen before. but...
a deeper position would achieve a better result . i like waterbird-photos, if the water flows into the lens hood ;-)

Lovely image, Will. I like the blending of the two colors in the background. I have never seen on of these ducks before, thank you for sharing.

Hi Will, lovely swimming angle and HA, and I like the curvature of the back and tail. Interesting to see the split of the colours in the water.

Nice work Will, I'm another fan of the 2 tone water effect, and the head angle is spot on.
