One can see the slight blush on the breast of this roseate during the breeding season, taken last May. I was using my new 100-400mm II lens and it certainly was a more responsive combo then my starting 7D and 100-400... Crop about 50%

1DX, ISO 500, f 5.6, 1/2500 373mm

Exposure looks good, I would go with a square crop around the bird.

Nice details on the Tern and a lovely symmetrical pose. I cold see a few different crops, both square and vertical working here. From a tech standpoint, just keep an eye on the halo around the beak, an easy fix.

I can notice the halo, but this is one hard bird to shoot. But they fly really beautifully. I would mistake this for a least tern if you didn't point the blush on the chest. Beautiful! :D
