Nice work, John. Beautiful bird, lovely color palette to the image, great perch with the lichens. I think your detail/sharpening and exposure on the bird and perch is spot on. Perfect background. Thank you for sharing.

A beautiful and crisp image; I appreciate the balanced colors, soft background and the way the branches frame the subject. Having said that, my eye is drawn to the vertical branch. I wonder how the impact would change it the vertical branch was smaller or curving or not present. For example it might simplify and add more elegance to the image. I can't decide if the vertical branch enhances or weighs slightly heavy and detracts. The straightness of the vertical branch may conflict with the soft and supple nature of the subject. In any case thanks for sharing a lovely thought provoking photo.

Lovely bird, perch and BG, John. I think I'd give the bird a little more sharpening, esp the head and chest area. All the details are there, I just think a little more sharpening will do the trick.

The Robin looks nice to me, I would give a bit more room on the right so the joint
of the tree branch is not intersected.

A beauty either way, John. Lovely bird, pose, colors, bg, perch. I was going to make the same point as Dan about competing the joint of the branch. To be really picky, I think I might have cropped just enough to show the completed junction but without the slightly soft blob at the far right end.

The repost looks great. You just need to clean up the dark smudge below the junction of the branch.

Hi John, what a lovely setting with a colourful bird. Nicely framed in the fork, and your repost in pane #12 does the trick.
