I had the pleasure of photographing Pied Bill Grebe a few years ago in England where this bird is a real rarity. I dearly wished I had made an image like this, the splash is brilliant! Good detail on the bird too. If mine I might tone down the pale green vegetation. Nice work!

Dan:

Great sense of action from the flying water. Agree with Adrian about the lighter reeds in the bg, they do tend to pull ones eye, and could be toned down a bit.

Cheers

This one made me laugh. Wish the BG wasn't so "defined."

Love the droplets (looks like fireworks) but find the 3 OOF bright grasses very distracting. I would definitely do some blurring and dodging .
I see a purple cast on the duck feathers on back and forehead. Is this the natural color? Maybe my monitor is off as no one else has mentioned this.
Great POV and I love the expression of the grebe,
Gail

Gail:

I do see the same cast as you mentioned.

Bird should be brown, not magenta. Love the flying droplets. Background is distracting to me.

I like the water drops radiating off the Grebe, sharpness, low angle, flash work and composition. Nice image Dan.

Love the spray. You might try reducing the BLUE SAT and see how that affects the color cast. I wish that you had been 2 inches to your right at the instant of exposure; why would that have helped? a
