A very nice place to photo birds it appears.
That tree is gorgeous and the Flicker looks even better on it than
the Woodpecker.
Very nice work....

Hi Arash, love the mood and lighting on this, conveys the location well and has a nice atmosphere to the scene. Cracking detail and I really like the colour palette of the BKG, blends in well with the subject. Will be there in 5 weeks time, before heading to more snowy climates. Really nice work!!!
Why not push the ISO for a better SS?

Bird and moss covered branch look about perfect, also a smashing Bg,cracking piece of bird photography.
Keith.

Arash:
The soft light has allowed the details to stand out beautifully, with almost a glow. Classic woodpecker composition, with a great trunk and background.
Congrats

Look like a painting in a good sense. A real beauty.

Wonderful woodsy feel to this one, as with the Pileated before it. Perfect woodpecker pose with just the right head turn to show a hint of the red on the back of the head. Great perch and bg, and your usual masterful techs. Thanks for sharing.

I think I recognize this tree!
Lovely subject with perfect head angle.
Excellent IQ- can't believe how sharp this is at 1/200 HH.

Hey Steve, I was experimenting a bit to figure how low I can drop the SS and it turns out that with the 400 DO II I can get sharp frames repeatedly even at 1/100sec!

That lens must be a breeze to HH and the body tucks nicely in, with the weight where it needs to be, may need to badger you about the Flicker :w3.

A bird OTHER than a raptor!!! Stunning portrait, Arash. Love the contrast between the WP and the tree, as well as all the fine details. That perch is really special too!
