A quick visit tonight at one of the little owl sites I visit ,were tonight I spotted both the male and female birds very close to each other ,they are always around you just need to know were to look and I always make a point of not leaving until I either spot signs they are around or I see one ,this is the male at sunset on a winter January day at sunset.Canon 1dmkiv 300mm f4 at f4 iso 640 1/250 sec +1/3 ev no bait or audio was needed to get the shot 158306

What beautiful light you had.
Great perch. Great BG.
I would lighten up the dark green semi-circle on the LHS. I find it pulls my eye away.
The whites on the leg are blown out and I wonder if they can be recovered in PP.
I could see this cropped as a vertical.

I am Ok with the comp as is, but I agree with the dark area at left and the bright leg. I love the perch and the cute slanting pose. Nice details and light.

I agree with the previous comments, minor rework will make this great capture even better

Looks like he is pondering the meaning of life. :w3 A few tweaks to the processing are in order, but I like the presentation .
