What a cute little fawn.. I'm sure glad you didn't take it home.. Mom usually will find it. You had some real tough light to work with.. Sunlight forests are almost impossible to photograph wildlife in without some sort of light control. Fill flash may have helped here. The bright spots in the BG are distracting and if you could balance the exposure with flash or wait for a clould to cover the sun you could pull this image off...

Hey Larry, like Robert said you had some really difficult lighting it and I fully agree with Robert suggestions.In addition, I would like to say that a lower angle might have worked better. This would bring more intimacy into the photograph. That, together with Robert suggestions would really improve this image.
