This was taken near Butler, KY. I was originally looking for animals to photograph but when I saw the sun come up I had to stop the car and photograph it. The fog line in the back is coming from the Ohio River.
Handheld while sitting in my car.

Hi Jack, What a nice scene with plenty of color in the sky. I find the dark tones to be a little muddied and would ad some contrast back into them

Nice composition Jack, but Not a big fan of the white hot sun.. The layered FG is more my taste..and the ladder add intrigue..

Thank you both for your input. I will make changes accordingly and see what happens.

Hi Jack, another well composed scene but perhaps a tad tight around the tree. I agree with Don L. that it could use a bit more contrast added to it and with Don R. on the blown out sun.

I didn't see if it was a crop -- maybe just a bit more room all around wold be nice, but very interesting drama here. Did you get any shots before the sun was up this much?

Diane I was sitting in my car on the road when I took this and I only was able to take a couple of snaps. It is full frame. I too would like some more room around it but its one of the disadvantages of using a prime lens.

Yes, a common frustration. Sometimes it's possible to go vertical and shoot 2-3 across and make a pano. Go to M exposure and focus, though, to get a match between frames.
