I had the pleasure of a quick trip through portions of SC Colorado last week and visited this wonderful park for the first time. It was really fun to photograph, but the evening winds are hard to conquer. The wind gusts were brutal and routinely pelted me and my camera with sand...I'm still trying to get it out of some of the knobs!

Good photo Judd. I like the patterns in the sand, which is a strong enough as foreground interest. Further the shapes of the dune and the sense of depth the image conveys. Well done.

Hi Judd,
I like this one a lot! Your use of lines as a compositional element are outstanding. The sand lines all flowing and drawing you into the image while the mountain on the left also brings you back into the top of the dune. the lighting brings out the textures of the sand very well and your choice of keeping the sky at a minimal was also an excellent one. My only debate is whether the image needs CW rotation as the Mnts. on the right seem higher on the horizon line.........if they are in the correct place.........I may be tempted to remove them. Very well done.

Great Sand Dunes - recognized it before looking at the caption.

Nice use of leading lines in the ripples, side-lighting to accentuate the texture and balanced the FG dune with the BG mountain.
