Hi David, well exposed on the Heron, and I really like how the colours of the BG compliment the Heron. Whilst not the best wing position, he may have been gliding. If not, capturing a sequence and then choosing the best wing position may have worked better. I like that you have left the grasses in. :w3
This fellow is identical to our Grey Herons here in SA. I was actually shooting some this past saturday. :w3

Love the light, and the grasses in the FG on this one David. Nice details on the bird, I agree with Stu about the wings.

Yes, a full upstroke or downstroke is a more dramatic wing position, but everything else about the frame is nice. I like the included habitat.

Nice and sharp with a great BKGR. The wing-position shadow under the near wings hurts is a bit. With the pancake wings it would have been great if the bird were angled a lot more towards you. a
