I went to Circle B Bar Reserve this morning, heavy clouds and dark. I managed to get a couple good frames, this is one. Comments and critique welcomed and appreciated. Thank you for viewing.

The dark-ish BG highlights the bird nicely Joe - and there's lots of detail to appreciate, although it disappears slightly on the breast. I'm surprised at the low noise level at such high ISO's - One of the things I've been rapped on the fingers for on my shot placed yesterday (Nikon D7100).

Hello Joe, nice to see a small one from you, little more DOF would have taken this up a bit more, that said it's a lovely shot as it is.

Hi Joe, I like the alert pose with the large round eye, and the grey's and yellow's of the plumage go very well together. As you mentioned, looks like you were battling for light, but I feel your DOF isnt too bad.

The overall concept and execution are great. My big problem is the awkward head position with the bird looking too far to its left for me..... If it were mine, I would lose the spider web on the bill. EXP and sharpness right one. a

ps: on a second look blackening the pupil a bit might help....
