Good capture John. Only seen a few this year so far. Lovely colours and I like the reflection. A wee bit more head turn towards us, would take it up a notch

John:

Head up, nice catchlight, soft light/colors.

Might consider larger f/stop to decrease dof a bit and give yourself more shutter speed to work with.

My first impression was that it was rotated CCW, but ripples look ok, so just an optical illusion probably.

Nice image John. Great to be able to capture it in the pool. Exposure is spot on and the colours are lovely. Agree with Will on the head position but still a great image.

I like the sharpness, reflection and setting. I would clone out the back object (pipe?) just behind the bird. Nice image John.

Thanks all.
Randy -interesting comment about the DOF Iv,e been having trouble with heads being slightly OOF and so kept the aperture as small as possible. maybe the lens needs callibrating. I do keep the DOF as shallow as I can to avoid merging the birds into backgrounds which is so easy in pool situations with the banks at the rear.

Pretty neat. I like the perky pose. Only thing I could add is to not us NR on the subject as it smooth's out the plumage.

Thanks all. Yes Dan I usually use it on an adj layer on the BG only.
Jim -yes- not sure what it is - easily fixed.
