I usually shoot these guys at the Ship Canal in Burlington.
When a ships comes its a good news as all the birds take off.
This time a Coast Guard ship came in, having been painted red.
The reflection of the ship on the water made the image more interesting IMO.
Thanks for looking.

That's nice work Karl using the reflection of the ship, seen a few different backdrops both natural and artificial but never a ship, very nice flight shot with the bird standing out well.

Good one Karl and story. Been some cracking shots of this species of late.
And this is another.

Fascinating image, Karl. The bird's wing positions are excellent, and reflections from the ship make a most unusual and pleasing background. Very nice.

Excellent image Karl! I like the flight angle, sharpness, exposure and reflection of the coast guard vessel matches the eye really well.

Hi Karl, excellent flying pose with the full downstroke of the wings from this fellow, and before reading your intro, I thought - how were you achieving those colours in the water. Its unusual, and I like it.
