This was taken in early October near my house. I couldn't get any lower and was stuck on one side of the canal. I like the side lighting and dark BG. This was taken about an hour before sunset. All C&Cs are welcome and appreciated.

Although I prefer lower angles I must say that this image works remarkably well as is. Great light, and that eye is hypnotizing. Very nice BG with the "brushstroke" patterns. I'd be quite happy with this!

Jim:

The lighting and configuration of the eye makes it act almost like a target bullseye, really pulls ones attention in. Side lighting very effective overall. Personal taste might lead me to crop 5% off the top.

Cheers

Nice one, Jim. Lovely evening feeling with beautiful light, good head turn, nice dark background that makes the bird pop.
