This was taken at my house last week. It is hunting season for the ducks here. You can see over a thousand ducks flying around Lake St. Clair now but they are too far out. A couple of ruddies have been hanging around the breakwall. When I try to capture some images I make sure not to scare them into the awaiting sights of the hunters guns. The lighting wasn't too good this day but I like the stray feather poking up. All C&Cs are welcome and appreciated.

Even on a dull day you have got some nice detail Jim, these ducks are public enemy no one over here with the government paying people to shoot them because they are worried about them cross breeding with other species, like your image and hope it escapes the hunters.

Good composition and details. I love the bill, nice and smooth. Perhaps a touch of CCW rotation needed, very subtle.

Nice clean shot of this non breeding plumage duck, Jim.

Great capture Jim. I love the feather detail on the body of the bird. The stray feather adds interest.
