Silver Efex Pro - A few layers for toning, color, and the border. I've only done a few images with textures. I have an old 40 year old photograph that has a big crease down the center folded long ago, so I took a photograph of the back of it and used that as a texture for this image. A few toning layers to get the right blend and piece in the texture.

The crease is exactly what I would expect if someone folded this and put it in their pocket! Very effective with the vintage effect and the addition of the border.

This one definitely looks vintage and old. Using a photo of the folded photo was a brilliant idea--works really well to say "old photo." The centered composition, the colors, the border, all work to make it look old. Very well done.

Thanks much for your comments. They are much appreciated. Soon after I completed this image I heard the news of the terrible attacks in Paris. In the ensuing days the cries began for the Muslim Syrian refugees to be prevented from coming to America. I guess because I had just finished this I was reminded of what the Statue of Liberty is, a gift from France for what America stands for. I added a quote from the Emma Lazarus poem that graces a plaque at the base of the statue.
