The moth had recently emerged from the pupal case upon which it is resting. All C&C welcome.

Great capture Jonathan. Lovely and sharp and the colours are super. Had you thought about turning it 90 degrees clockwise so that the insect was standing rather than hanging? I know that is the way you captured it, but just a thought. You would have to crop a bit off the bottom if you did so that the stalk is coming more out of the corner of the frame. Anyway it is a great image and you have captured great detail in the wings. Do you have all these insects staked out with tripod in place ready to click the shutter?

Thanks Diane, David I look for them in the field and where possible photograph them in situ, when impracticable I would snip the stem and mount it on a small tripod or wedge it in a crack in a fence or gate and when finished return it from whence it came.

Wicked, wicked, wicked. The colors and detail are top notch. Super sharpness where needed and still a smooth BKGR.
