Dear Friends,

Unless you are familiar with Pink Floyd's lyrics, you might find it a bit difficult to grasp the meaning behind the title of this frame. But my title is open to interpretation, so no need to go and ask Mr. Google, just let your imagination flow...

The life of a little Baboon often has a rough start and things are not always easy. Although the infants are supposedly "attached" to their mothers for the first month or so, they have to learn to survive and cope with the "moods" of the other adults in the group, as well as a few predators lurking around. Here's a young fellow in a close embrace with his Mom, innocent and so trusting. The scene moved me and I hope it has a similar effect on you.

Nikon 500 F4
ISO 1000
F7.1
1/640s

Reduced exposure to a great degree as I wanted to focus solely on the subjects.

Thank you so much for viewing, I truly appreciate it.

Kind regards,

Hi Gabriela -- I absolutely love this frame , winner all the way . This is special to me since the effect of the book " SOUL of the Lion " (based on the life of Marieta van der merwe of HARNAS wildlife foundation in Namibia ) never dies on me . I can relate the baboon images , especially in the care of its mother with that book .
Loved it .

Hi Gabriela, a very nice title and being a PF fan, I know what you mean here. Superb comp and that look towards the mom by the little one is priceless. Nice PP work and well seen and photographed! TFS.

Beautiful interaction, and well presented - the baby's head angle makes the image for me.

Awesome image, very dramatic, and so human as well. Love it, one of my favorite photos this week for sure.

You could have also called it "We're just two lost souls swimming in a fish bowl year after year" :bg3:
