This little individual was taking a relaxing bath in the shallows of the Ottawa River, and on one of the times it raised its head out of the water it had a piece of vegetation stuck at the tip of the bill. It quickly shook it away and resumed its dunking activities.

Canon 7D + 500mm f/4 II + 1.4TC, manual exposure, evaluative metering, 1/500s., f/5.6, ISO 800, natural light, handheld, small crop for comp, darkened the pupil.

Excellent image, Daniel Sir.
Spectacular moment captured. Love the colour of vegetation, low shooting angle and composition.

Satish.

Hi Daniel,

This shot is a real beauty. Everything looks top notch to my eyes. The vegetation and it's reflection both add a nice touch.

Nice intimate POV.
I like the color palette and the pop of green from the vegetation really adds to the image.
I see a line just above the tail that I would evict ripple ?cloning ghost.
IQ excellent as always,
Gail

Nice moment captured. Love the smooth silvery water at the front and the layered blues at the back. POV and IQ are perfect.

Hmm, I don't recall any cloning done here as it was a very clean scene, but it sure looks like a clone mark there. Perhaps accidental. In any regards that will be cleaned up, good eye Gail.

I thought maybe that was motion blur, although there does appear to be a faint ghost above the far wing as well. Beautiful image with a lovely blending from foreground to background.

Classic low level wader shot but the vegetation pumps it up to something a bit special, nice work Dan

Killer shooting angle and love the dangling vegetation. Cloned primary noted. I'd also darken the eye just a tad more.
