Remnants of Light

The last remnants of sunlight quickly fades on a stormy afternoon over the iconic and picturesque Amphitheatre in the Drakensberg mountains. A slow flowing Tugela River reflects the amazing fiery sunset colours, oranges and reds, bringing to an end a great day in the Berg.


Location : Zimanga Private Nature Reserve, Kwazulu Natal, South Africa
Camera & Settings : Nikon D800 | Nikon 14-24 f/2.8 | ISO 50 | f/11 | 1/5sec with a darker exposure captured for the sky, and blended back into the land exposure using luminosity masks and advanced blending techniques.

It appears to me that it needs a tad of CW rotation but it may be an illusion.

Brilliant light, mood and composition here Mark.
I agree that at first glance the amphitheatre made me think it needs rotation, but it might just be an optical effect.

I really like the "stadium" effect created by the hills on the side and the majestic mountain in the BG.
