It was far too hot to do much photography after the lunar eclipse (and too busy scouting the location a couple of days before), but I did manage a few images. This one is an IR -- converted Canon 5D Mk II, Super Color filter, 24-70 at 30mm, ISO 200, f/9, 1/125 sec. Severe clear in searing mid-day heat.

The usual minor tonal adjustments in LR then into PS for some Nik Glamour Glow and toning.

Hi Diane - I rather like this. Something about the starkness grabs me. Nicely done.

I really like this one. Super composition and detail. Well done for doing something different. Often wondered what a Joshua Tree looked like and now I know.

Interesting image.
I love the tree and the wispy clouds on the right.
Find myself wanting to see the entire bush in RLC.
That glow effect is really unusual.

Thanks, everyone. I see your point about the bush, but if I moved back or went wider to include more of it, I included a neat row of basketball-sized rocks lining the parking area (or a large log -- I forget which location was which). I need to start carrying a crow bar in my car. If I moved forward to exclude it, the tree was bigger than I liked relative to the rocks, and nothing was softening the shadow of the tree leading out of the frame, so I was grateful for using it as best I could.

Lovely conversion here, and particularly like the contrasts between lights and darks!

I just love high contrast IR imagery and this one works well, Diane!
Love the starkness as mentioned above.

Thanks, everyone! IR can work so well in the harsh blue light of midday.
