An intimate scene indeed. It looks as if you were right in the nest with them. The tiny newborns are adorable, and I like the assortment of food in the eagles' larder.

Hi Geoff a great intimate scene in the eagle life , the angle is not ideal as you might also think but we have to take what we can get .
Overall nice colors and tone , but i think the image could stand some more brightness from my POV . Lovely detail and sharpness .

f/11 sure kept everything in the shot sharp ... great choice.

I am with Andreas, the shot seems on the dark side. The angle, however, seems ideal to reveal the chicks deep down in the center.

Thanks Andreas for the CC... about the angle, if the angle were any more shallow the entire nest wall of sticks would cover the chicks who are the centre point of this image....not sure what better angle you were envisioning but let me know??....Thanks.

Thanks Ross, I will look at lightening this one up...it does appear dark now to me too, not sure why I didn't notice that while editing. I agree with you that the angle here is perfect to be able to see the 3 day old chicks in the nest bowl. As you can tell any lower and the chicks would be totally lost by the front wall of sticks on the nest.

I had the same problem on my first post, the Black-bellied Plover. It really looked fine in Lightroom how I had it setup. I was puzzled to hear my shot was dark because I calibrate my monitor monthly.

I found that if you view a photo with dark screen elements surrounding it, it will seem bright. With bright elements surrounding the photo, it will seem dark.

I now edit my shots for tone viewing at 50% screen width. Surrounding the shot is a medium grey work area, and I autohide those dark panels in Lightroom.

My eyes will be fooled no more .... I hope :S3:
