Taken in the area here called the forrest of bowland,although this is taken in the fields,it was hunting from post to post,cannon500mm IS ,L,F4,1/4EXT,700MM FL,5D MK111,resting on bean bag on farm wall,crop,sharpened,SH,CB.ISO200,F6.3,1/5000S.

Love the owl but not crazy about the post - would be over the moon to get a shot of this owl out in the open during the day.
I would crop to just above your name to minimize the impact of the post and I would also lighten it a bit via dodging or lifting the shadows to bring the greens out.
Was your SS really 1/5000? Must have been in the middle of the day if yes.

We don't really get owls active during the day, so I'd kill for that opp. :)
Nicely done, while the perch is less than ideal, it is not that bad really.

Lovely details and exposure. Nice looking bird too. Perhaps not an ideal setting, but I'd be happy to have this.

Thanks for looking and comments,Gail,yes that's the shutter speed,it was late in the morning,and sunny,dont usually see them hunting at this time of day.
