Black Vulture

Photographed March while on Jim Neiger's and James Shadle's BAA approved "Best of Florida" workshop.

I got all "fouled-up" while clicking exposures for the white birds, so the aperture ended up small, while the ISO should have gone down instead. The shadows don't appear to have been hit too badly.:)

Thank you for looking, and your suggestions are appreciated.

Well, maybe f/10 wasn't a bad choice at all, sharpness from one tip to the other and excellent detail in the blacks.

Details and eye contact are great. The blacks have a green cast. I'm not so familiar with this species and don't know if that is what they look like.

Hi Brian.

Like the flight pose in this capture with the wide wing span. Very nice detail and eye contact too and well composed. I too like the F stop you chose for this capture. Thanks for sharing.

Excellent capture of this species, Brian. Beautiful full wing span and well managed exposure.

No problem at all with f/10. Very little noise for a 40D at ISO 1600. I think the blacks could stand to be a little blacker.

Very nice !
I also like the fact that you got sharpness throughout.

I'm seeing a bit of a wide halo around the bird. S/H maybe?
