Toad (Juvenile)

This little fella was about as long as a thumbnail. I actually managed to get three stacked shots of him-in a sandwich box !
Lot of trow outs though !
D200 Sigma 50 mm macro.
200ISO 50th @f5.6
three stacked shots in CZM
Slight crop

Nice toad in environment, the bursting of life you capture so well. Fewer specular highlights, not clear how it was lit...

John:

Love the textures, shapes here. Nice job on the stack. I would try to reduce some of the specular highlights.

I haven't figured out how to successfully utilize a polarizing filter on my macro shots, always struggling just to stay in one spot while hanging off the edge of my pond or other such thing!

Cheers

The harsh light makes for uneasy viewing even though there is plenty of detail. I would have preferred a lower angle to portray his diminutive size but I appreciate this is easier said than done. I wonder if the image would look improved if there was a little less sharpening?

Thanks all.
Jon- could have got h
lower but I wanted to show the back eye as opposed to side on. No sharpening except for resized for web. CZM does hve its own high pass filter. Easy enough to blur it a bit !!

PS- this toad was about an inch long !
