This is a more conventional portrait of the same Tri-colored Heron I posted previously. Image captured a few minutes later when the bird's head angle turned sideways, shot at Lake Mirror, Lakeland, Florida. Comments and critique welcomed and appreciated. Thank you for viewing.

Nice details and profile on this portrait. I like the eye and the faint detail contained in the iris. I normally do not worry where dof falls, except for tight portraits, so here I would have stopped down to get the full bill sharp. Still a strong portrait.

Nice close up portrait shot Joe. Love the details especially around the eye and head area. The BG colour shows off the bird well.

Great light, detail and colours Joseph, also a nice clean background.

Terrific light and details and I like your composition. I would've pushed the ISO for more DOF, but a very nice portrait anyway. TFS Joe.

The only deal breaker for me is the soft bill tip.
But you have a wonderful portrait nevertheless.
Don't forget to use your aperture in this instance and
a slight cranking up of the ISO with good exposure control
will still get very good IQ shots.
Really like it!
