Lots of these about at the moment but the trick is finding them with a nice clean background.

Edit: The description is wrong. This is a female Common Darter.

Beautiful image, David. Nice lighting, great details...

As you said, finding a nice clean background is the trick. I haven't been able to as of yet. :)

Thanks for sharing!

Lovely shot David good and crisp. I have a few in my back garden pond currently, I have the same problem as you but I have managed a few decent shots.
The lighting looks good, though not over exposed, I may be tempted to reduce the highlights just a tad.

Very nice! That's a great dragonfly rig! Works well with the 1.4X too, if they are posed. Excellent pose and BG. Lovely sharpness and detail. Probably nothing to do about specular highlights except turn them gray.

Thanks for the all the very encouraging comments. It is a great
Dragonfly and Butterfly rig Diana, I have been using a 32mm extension tube rather than the 1.4extender because you are not limited to just the centre spot for a/f. I ususly a/f first and then manually adjust if needed.

Nice diagonals going on here! and nice background. A little saturated for my taste, but I am an outlier I think.

Good idea on the ET -- I'll have to try that!
