Image was captured in April of last year from the jetty at Barnegat Light with approaching sunset. This gull is in breeding plumage, and if you look closely you'll see one of the characteristic pink legs faintly through the water. C&C welcome.

D3s, Nikon 500mm + 1.4 tc, 1/800s, f 7.1, ISO 800, Gitzo tripod, Wimberley Gimbal head.

Nicely captured Geoffrey. Lovely detail. I like the feathers on the back of the head. Nice looking bird and thanks for sharing.

Nice subtle light and a good looking bird Geoffrey. I think this photo would have improved immensely with a lower angle, although that would presumably not have been possible from a jetty.

Exposed well and nice details. I too wish for a better POV. Well done

The head feathers help make this. For me angle of view is not a problem.

Nicely done mate, the POV is understandable. I like to photograph white birds in soft light.

Thanks for sharing
