Captured in Tarangire NP, Tanzania, 6 April 2015.

Canon 5DIII + 600 mm f/4 II + 1.4x III extender, hand-held from a vehicle.
Manual, spot metering, spot AF, AI Servo, f/7.1, 1/800 sec, ISO 320.
Processed with DPP4 and PS Elements.

I had one of these in frontof the new hide last year and missed it !

Beautifully executed Ian. I really like this.
I'd be tempted to crop a touch tighter, especially from the left side.
But it works.
Really good HA and pose, lovely details.

A delightful bird. Sadly I have only seen these at about 200 yards through a telescope. If I can get an image like this I would be over the moon. Quite a delicate wader and you have captured it brilliantly IMHO.

This is lovely Ian. And POV is really good despite you being in the vehicle.
I wonder why you didn't get out of the car for a belly shot near the river bank??! Haha!:w3
Excellent IQ and I like the comp you chose.
Good head angle.
I would clone out the specular highlight in the water to the left of the bird.

Couldn't be better. The detail on the bird stand out perfectly without being too over powering, great DOF. Nice one.
