Wow! You made the most of your encounter with this bee-eater. I have been to Africa 5 times and never had a bee-eater that allowed this kind of approach.
The soft light is perfect for this bird.
IQ is excellent.

Great details, nice smooth background that complements the subject and good HA and perch. If it were mine I'd crop it a bit differently and lose some empty space on the right to move the bird off centre more and gain some space on the left if possible. A favourite species of mine that I've only been able to photograph once in Borneo and that was the Blue-throated.
