The morning fog had mostly lifted, but it was still hazy bright when we spotted this Vermilion Flycatcher in a private reserve south of Lima in June.

D7200, 500f4 + 1.4 TC, ISO 800, 1/800s @ f/6.3 manual, Gitzo monopod.

Good pose and perch. Vertical was the way to go, but I'd be still tempted to place the subject a tad higher in the frame. I'd also look into lifting the exposure more, perhaps at least 1/2 stop more (seems dark to me). The rest looks good to me.

You have created a very nice portrait of the vermillion flycatcher! Pleasant pose and sharp eye and head. Nice details in the red feathers. Agree with Daniel's observation that the subject could be placed a little higher in the frame.

Nice high key image. love the little crest he has. Never having seen the bird in the flesh its hard to tell if repost is better- certainly more detail on the back feathers. Looks better higher in the frame.
