This was at Chobe NP in Botswana. We saw lots of these majestic raptors. This is full frame image with 7D II, 500 mm II. The angle was a bit steep but these guys don't perch on low branches :-)

Gorgeous bird! The high angle works for me for a noble bird like this -- he exudes pride and ferocity. The feet are so large and appear so close it almost has a wide-angle look to it, adding to the regal mood.

Hi Sanjeev, nice looking Fish Eagle with good detail. I wonder if it's a fraction 'big in frame' perhaps a fraction smaller or a looser crop just to give the subject more room to breathe, WDYT?

OK, perhaps the 100-400 on this one :bg3:. The more kit you have, can make the choice challenging at times, still a good capture. Guess they are a bit more relaxed at Chobe.

These birds are gorgeous and you have done him justice.
Exposure on the whites are excellent.
Angle is steep but the large in the frame composition helps minimize this.
Good comp. Do you have one with him looking at you?

Hi Sanjeev, once again, excellent exposure on the big fellow, as the whites on the neck show up so well, not to mention the rest of the feather detail. I like your vertical comp, and with the small branch protruding out to the right. Although the angle is a touch steep, I have never been able to capture these guys at eye level perspective, unless they have been fairly far away, reducing the angle.

Missing SA yet? :w3
