Finally was able to get out for some fresh landscape images this past weekend at one of my favorite wetlands - Tiny Marsh near Elmvale, Ontario. Usually on cloudless mornings I do not even bother with sunrise images but on this day there was enough atmospheric haze to hold back the brightness of the sun to make it worthwhile. This photo was optimized from a single image file, without a grad filter. I also selected the D800's 1.5 sensor crop feature to have an effective focal length of 600mm for the big fireball.

Hi Andrew.
Do like this sun...! especially with the layers of yellow and orange... Like the composition, No nits..

Hi Andrew
I like the capture of the suns colours..not sure about the comp. Part of me wants to see a landscape format rather than vertical. My eye gets drawn to the broken tree, which takes away rather than adds to image...

Thanks Don and Peter...much appreciated...the broken tree bugs me a bit too, I contemplated evicting it but left it in to see what others thought about it.

Hi Andrew, When I first looked at this I was going to say you need to get rid of the tree but I think if you crop out the bottom of the image it comes together nicely.
