Hi Ian, excellent feather detail here, and the light has brought out the colours nicely. Great eye, great HA, and you have the sharpness spot on.

We have a quite few different species of Spurfowl in SA, but none like this.

Great shot Ian, lovely detail and great subject. I would be tempted to take more off the top. TFS

Hi Ian, proves it doesn't have to be exotic to be both interesting and a cool image. If you have the time perhaps a square format as an option, plus I might just drop the exposure in the bottom RHC of the plumages, looks light, therefore a tad more Exp may help balance things?

Excellent light and details. Great call on the f-stop. Ideally I would've liked a bit less of a head turn. Nice complementary BG, but agree about cropping a bit from the top.

Excellent HA, light and eye contact. Superb feather details.....even those just behind the eye! I also enjoy the details on the beak (bill?) The clean background, vibrant colors of the spurfowl and the composition equal are great image!

Spectacular color and detail, and the bird stands out nicely against the darker bg. For my taste the HA and crop are just right -- again the great diversity of opinions on BPN.
