Arctic Tern, western Iceland.
Underexposed, but I just liked the view of the tail.....
I can get decent detail with this lens combo and it is great for traveling and carrying around but it
is no super tele, that is for sure.....
i did not go to Iceland for bird photography at all and am very surprised that I do not see
more from there, it is a breeding bird paradise in the summer months.....

Love. love the pose!
Agree it is a bit dark but you have it all otherwise.
Great HA, BG, sharpness.

Nice flight shot of this handsome Tern, Dan. If it is so fast flyer as the Common Tern, then you did an amazing job capturing it.
Love the showing of the field mark tail.

The pose is *amazing*. Nice head turn, perfect display of the tail. And a lovely bg to go along.
Iceland sounds like birding heaven.

Beautifully captured little Tern. The view of the tail is terrific -- I see why you liked it. Head turn perfect, and nice bg. I suspect you could brighten it up a bit if you chose to.

A most elegant pose well caught, I too would see about lifting the darkest plumage a little otherwise a super shot.

Nice pose on the bird...not easy to capture the eye with these birds

I agree, the pose and the BG are awesome but the light and its angle are less than ideal. Nice that the head is clear and visible. Lots of great birds from Iceland, keep em coming.

Excellent flight image, Dan. Super wing, tail, head and feet positions. I was there in June of 2012 and I agree, it's one spectacular bird breeding paradise in summer.
