Oystercatcher

I've not had chance recently to post on here but have still been taking pictures whenever I get chance.
I came across this Oystercatcher on the Yorkshire moor's by chance while trying to find a partridge I have seen. I quickly got down low and was able to get a few shots before it moved away.
Nikon D7000, Nikkor 300mm f4 af + 1.4x TC. 1/1000 sec f5.6 iso 450

Too bad we are unable to see anything of the feet, perhaps a little higher POV would have been better in this case. Regards, Ian.

Don't mind the mushy foreground and the bg looks good, it's the sort of shot that really appeals to me Iain, nice work.

Nice profile, job work on the blacks and whites, and nice BG. I'd be tempted to add a point or two of reds to the colour balance to warm it up, and perhaps take care of the twigs at right edge. I'm OK with the FG covering the feet because it is rather soft due to the shallow dof.
