Well Stu, thanks for providing the opportunity to post this one with the new theme, but then I think you may know I would have at some point posted this, LOL, so no surprises.

Taken towards the later part of the day, (just before 5.00pm last month), no blue sky just a light hint of grey, so just opened up the BKG. Sitting on his post, just watching/surveying his territory, he just starred down and ruffled his plumage.

Thanks to those who viewed or posted a comment on the previous thread.

Hi Steve,

Delightful image - pensive little owl against the clear background. Beautifully made image and outstanding post production - as usual!

Hi Steve, even though Ive seen this elsewhere, this version rocks with regards to detail. Love the ruffled feathers, good alert stare, just enough perch to work, and the high key finish rounds the image off very well. Great result with that ISO. You have to change locations to get that lovely blue sky that some others have. :w3

Cheers Gerald.

Not location as such Stu, but the weather/light can also play a huge roll in imagery, changing mood etc as you know. Now to see if there are any new additions to the family, plus all the data recorded is now going into a nice central pot.

Cheers
Steve

Hi Steve very lovely processed HK owl :5, i very much like the ruffled feathers and the concentrated look downwards . Great IQ as always and expected from your postings .
Crop is working well, too.
Great job all around

Overcast and white skies work wonderfully. Beautiful Little Owl, thank you for sharing.

This months theme is perfect for you guys with less than ideal lighting :) Nice details and pose and I like the comp you chose also. I might be tempted to boost the saturation a little on the owl to give it a bit more pop. Well done Steve
